Problems with T-Mobile Datacards

this message concerns people using a T-MOBILE DATACARD (eg web'n'walk) to go online!

more and more frequently users complain about problems sending email via smpt.mur.at, as well as getting an ftp-session to run.

this problem is caused by t-mobile. they assign different ip-addresses to the same host during one session.

we already contacted them, by now - no response. it seems unlikely that they will cooperate.

with the following changes you can work around that problem:

SMTP

instead of smtp.mur.at use smtp.t-email.at. no further special settings, and leave user/password empty.

FTP

to make filetransfer work you should use sftp, for settings/info visit: SFTP (most of the programs can handle both.)

and you should complain to t-mobile! demand 1 (one) allocated ip-address within one online-session.
